Barefoot Shaman's Training 2015

Offered in Vancouver and Saskatoon (Canada 2015) this is a 125 hour program of ritual gatherings designed to give a foundation of skills, knowledge, and experience to those wanting a comprehensive overview of indigenous practices. Graduates are encouraged to begin building their own practice, specialized in the offerings they naturally feel suited for.

Welcome Home

Here is a home for those wanting a deep connection to nature, and what indigenous peoples called the "Other World," the "Spirit World," the "Ancestors," (what modern psychology calls imagination or the archetypal or the mythic). MythicNature has a mission to provide teachings and experiences that re-awaken the natively human sense of being in community and to train barefoot shamans that can carry this work with them in the world as a way to bring the water of healing to modernity.

Events 2015

Events are offered in Vancouver, Nelson, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon (Western Canada) and in the UK and Germany. Themes range widely, borrowing the medicine wheel of the Dagara tribe of West Africa . . . ancestors, creativity, grief and reconciliation, life purpose and empowerment of a person's genius, the medicine of village, transformation and initiatory passages. Good people gathering with intention and the presence of the sacred.

Medicine Without an Expiry Date

Written by the director of MythicNature, Randy Jones, this is a "barefoot shaman's manual" to revitalize indigenous wisdom in the modern world. From the book: "This book is in a sense a defence of that kind of sensitivity, a demand for the simply human right to be in conversation with other members of the community of life, what that might mean, how far down the rabbit hole we might have to go before it can begin to happen, what it might look like, why to do it, and how we might still do it." The introduction is by Malidoma Somé.

Remedy for Modern Trouble

MythicNature events and trainings are in-depth journeys delving into the medicine of the natural elements—Fire, Water, Nature, Bones, and the great mysterious wisdom of the Earth. Through the ancient arts of storytelling with the old myths, ritual, and community, participants will experience (and help to create) the kind of initiations that kept traditional wisdom alive and vitally connected to the current generation, thereby activating and strengthening the gift of their own medicine and leadership.
